Who We Are
ALCOZ is heartivism redefined – grassroot activism driven by compassion. It is a ‘social value-proposition’ threading-off radical generosity and the lived realities of Persons-with-Albinism. As a social movement, the organisation is an ecosystem, composed of coherent and engaging parts, not defined and subscribing to any hierarchy, but with parts equitably feeding off each other, and catalysing actions towards collectively defined objectives. The resultant charity dynamic, and networked empathy, creatively meet the needs of over 1 000 young Persons-with-Albinism yearly. But this is a drop in the ocean, with over 9 000 potential beneficiaries. The organisation is driven by the Bantu Care Philosophy:
